Slightly Obsessed
June 12, 2012 I am slightly obsessed with peonies. That's actually an understatement. Every year I anxiously wait for them to arrive in stores. I always seem to hit the jackpot with Whole Foods early May, thanks to the lovely state of North Carolina for keeping us well stocked. I even found some at Trader Joes this week, which is very exciting since they're half the price of Whole Foods. I have bought at least one, sometimes more, bouquets a week and display them all over the house.
As you can see, it's the first thing I put in my shopping cart.
Another trips loot in the car on the way home. Aren't they gorgeous!?
These are currently on my cocktail table in the living room.
In the office.

By the kitchen sink. Love a single stem in a vintage bottle.
Even in the guest bathroom.

So happy the ones in my yard are about to bloom! Hopefully they will be ready to cut in the next few days.
Anyone else obsessed with peonies?

YES! They are one of my absolute favorite flowers, they are so luscious and gorgeous!!!! I just wish someone could invent a way to make them last longer then my house would be filled with them year round:)
I have only seen them once so far and they were far from pretty...*sigh*, love them so much but I think I have to live through all of your pretty pics!! xx
♥♥♥ them, time to go to TJoes and get some for my home. Yours are so beautiful, a touch here and there is perfection,

Peonies are the epitome of beauty! I love every shade of each graceful bloom.
They are my favorite and here in Southern California I can't grow them. No frost. At least I can pick them up at Trader Joe's.

I had all varieties when I lived in NY, but, unfortunately, I cannot grow them in Florida. They are not only beautiful, they smell wonderful, except for tree peonies, but what they lack in aroma they make up for in incredible beauty.
Yes, truly gorgeous! They're elegant and graceful. Beautiful images, Marianne. Love how you placed a single stem in the vintage bottle next to your pink grapefruit hand soap in the kitchen. Peony envy that yours are about to bloom. I just moved cross country leaving mine to their new home owners. It always amazed me how they need the little black ants to bloom. Thanks for your beautiful post!

I'm a huge fan of them too and yours look lovely scattered through out the house - why not make yourself happy in every room? Nicely done. They are so delicate and yet so big and bountiful. We were at Pike's Market this morning with my BIL & SIL who are visiting from Germany and they bought me/us a gorgeous bouquet with peonies, iris and many other pretties, as well as mint which I hadn't seen in a boquet before. It looks and smells divine! I also have that same candle in my bathroom - Jo Malone candles are a wonderful luxury!
They are my favorite flower. Trader Joe's has the most beautiful bunches I have ever seen.
I am obsessed with peonies! Especially white ones.
I now have serious peony envy. I love your post and peonies too. I can't believe we can't grown them in Florida but I am now inspired to treat myself to a fresh bouquet.
Thanks for the inspiration.
