Love For Antiques
January 2, 2013 Let's start the New Year off with a little bit of pretty! Sounds good, doesn't it? I'm a firm believer that what really makes a home a home is the addition of a few great antique pieces. Whether it be a gorgeous antique chest, a beautiful table or a simple ironstone bowl, you can create a space that feels collected over time even if you are just starting out. I think antique pieces look best when they are combined with modern elements to give the space some balance. Shopping for antiques is one of my favorite things to do, not only for my own home, but also for my clients. There's nothing better than finding the perfect piece that really speaks to you and one you will treasure for a lifetime.

Agreed Marianne! I think a few special antique pieces bring character and personality into a home like nothing else. I am like you...never gets old going on a treasure hunt for something fabulous!
I know...I always think a few well selected antiques really warm up a room and this piece is just divine. Next time you are in NY there are a few places I must take you out by me in CT. I know you would love them.

I love a room with history, but in small doses so the room feels alive and fresh - that picture demonstrates that perfectly! On a totally other topic - the casablanca lillies from the boquet you gave me are blooming now and smell DIVINE! :) Just what I needed right now - a little aromatherapy. ;)
